Yang Mingming

In 2012, Mingming directed, shot, and starred in her short debut film, Female Directors. Blurring boundaries, it showcased her ability to combine a quasi documentary film with a fictional plot. Female Directors screened widely at film festivals and the Vancouver International Film Festival called her "an essential new voice of Chinese cinema."

In 2015, she edited Yang Chao’s feature film Crosscurrent, which won the Silver Bear for Outstanding Artistic Contribution at the Berlin Film Festival.

In 2017, she wrote, directed and starred in her first feature film, Girls Always Happy.
